Join us for a hands-on community design event to help imagine and shape a new community garden across from Holly Farm Park in the West Portland Town Center.
During our October 2024 Garden Tour, the Southwest Corridor Equity Coalition and local partners heard directly from community about the need for more garden spaces. With a site now identified, we’re excited to move forward—with your voice leading the way.
Why It Matters:
This garden will be a shared space to grow fresh, affordable food, connect across cultures, support wellness, and build community. It will also restore nature, reduce stormwater runoff, and support climate resilience.
Who It’s For:
This project centers the voices of longtime SW Portland residents, including immigrant and refugee communities who have historically lacked access to land for growing food. We believe everyone should have a place to plant, grow, and thrive—together.
This effort is made possible by community advocacy and public investment, including funding from Portland Parks & Recreation and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, with leadership from local organizations like HAKI Community Organization, Neighborhood House, and the Southwest Corridor Equity Coalition.
Your voice is essential. Let’s co-create this space—for the people, by the people.
